I Wonder (Part 9)
I wonder...
What is the dumbest animal in the world?
Turkeys are the stupidest animals in the world. During a rainstorm, a turkey will look up at the sky and remain there for about half a minute. Their eyes are located on the side of their head so they don't have the best of vision. People also think that turkeys look up at the sky during a rainstorm with their beaks open until they drown, but that's just a myth. In the early 1990's a man named Tom Savage discovered that a turkeys behaviour is not from stupidity, but genes. He found a condition called tetanic torticollar spasms. This condition can make turkeys have abnormal behaviour, like looking up at the sky for half a minute at a time.

Why do some animals live longer in the zoo than in the wild?
Over 80%, more than 50 mammals live longer in the zoo than in the wildlife. This is because of the zookeepers protection for the animals. But bigger slower animals live longer in the wild whereas smaller faster pace animals live longer in capacity.

I Wonder (Part 7)
I wonder who invented the toothbrush?
William Addis.
The first toothbrush was made by William Addis in 1780. Addis was an English entrepreneur born in 1734 and died in 1808. William Addis made his first toothbrush whilst in jail. He made it with an animal bone from that he had eaten, and he revived some bristles from one of the guards. He drilled a hole into the bone and glued the bristles into the whole. After his release he started a business that would sell the toothbrushes he had built. He soon became very rich but died in 1808 and left his business to his eldest son, Also named William. By 1840 toothbrushes were being mass-produced in England, France, Germany and Japan.

I Wonder who the tallest person in the world is?
The tallest person in the world is Robert Wadlow who was 8'11 (2.72m). Robert is an American who was born in 1918 died in 1940 at the age of 22 by an infection. By the time he was 8, he was already taller than his father. He had to start wearing leg braces to make sure he could walk because he had little feeling in his legs. His shoe size was a 37AA.

I Wonder Why
I Wonder Why How Many Countries Have National Sports
I Wonder who held their breath the longest underwater?
In 2012 a German free diver, Tom Sietas broke the record for holding his breath underwater for 22 minutes and 22 seconds. Before he broke the record of 22 minutes he held the record of 17 minutes and 28 seconds.

I Wonder what the longest time someone has stayed awake for?
The longest time someone has stayed awake is 449 hours (18.7 days) via rocking chair marathon. In 1977 Maureen Weston held the record for staying up the longest. She bet Peter Tripp with 8.4 days and Randy Gardner with 11 days. She experienced paranoia and hallucination towards the end of her marathon. The Guinness World Records are not acknowledging sleep deprivation attempts anymore due to health reasons.
Canada: Lacrosse
Scotland: Golf
Japan: Sumo Wrestling
Lacrosse is a sport where the ball is thrown, carried across the field and is thrown into the goal with a long stick with a triangular net at the end. The game was originally called stickball.
Scotlands national sport is golf. People have been playing golf since the year 960 but Scotland started playing golf in 1457.
Sumo wrestling has been a sport since 794 and because of the long history and ancient wall paintings is it considered Japans national sport. Sumo wrestling is played by getting the opponent outside of the circle or getting any part of their body to touch the ground that isn't the soul of their feet.

Reading

What was I reading?
I was reading about a kiwi rock climber who fell 30 metres down a cliff in Australia. He fell off the cliff at around 7pm. He had a broken sternum, a broken tibia, major head injuries, a collapsed lung and a fractured jaw but he still survived. His incident happened April 26. I think the age audience would be teenagers. I think the purpose of this text is to inform people.

Lucas' father is a former student from the school Lucas goes to, and he asked to help with costs for Lucas' family to fly to America to learn about his condition. I think this article is suitable for anyone to read.
