In athletics training 2019 I think the event I have improved most in is shot put because I wasn't really sure how to hold the shot put and I have even learnt how to step into throwing the shot put.

Anaerobic Respiration
Anaerobic Respiration
Aim: To demonstrate the effects of the anaerobic respiration (muscle fatigue)
Hypothesis: I think my fingers are going to get sore and tired.
Equipment: A spring-loaded clothes peg.
Method:
Conclusion:
My fingers began to feel tired after a while. This is because the muscles in my fingers weren't used to going that fast and the faster they went the sorer they got. I had used up all my energy and there wasn't enough energy in my fingers to make more energy.
Evaluation: I think it all went well because nothing bad happened and that's what I expected to happen.

Hypothesis: I think my fingers are going to get sore and tired.
Equipment: A spring-loaded clothes peg.
Method:
- Hold the bed as shown in the diagram below.
- Relax your fingers so that the bed closes all the way.
- Squeeze your thumb and forefinger so the peg is fully open.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 as quickly as you can until you experience muscle fatigue.

Triple Jump
Triple Jump
Why did I choose to write about this event?
I choose to write about this event because I feel like at the start I didn't know anything about it and wasn't good at it but now I think I'm okay at it.
Explain the proper technique for this event.
You will run up, then hop onto one foot then step onto the other and then jump into the pit.
Have I improved in this event?
Yes, I think I have because I didn't know a thing at the beginning.
How could I have improved more?
I think I just have to practice to get better.
What is another event you would like to work on/improve?
High jump.

Chicken and rice patties
Chicken and rice patties
Recipe:
Recipe:
- 3 cups Jasmin rice (1 cup uncooked)
- 1 chicken breast
- 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 large carrot
- 3 spring onion stalks
- 1 1/3 cups grated mozzarella cheese
- 3 eggs
Method:
- Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius
- Slice chicken breast in half widthways, so it will cook through quicker.
- Heat oil in a medium frying pan and cook chicken until it begins to brown
- Remove from pan and shred chicken using a fork and set aside.
- Grate carrot so you have at least 1 cup.
- Finely slice spring onion.
- Lightly beat the eggs.
- In a large bowl add cooked rice, chicken, carrot, spring onion, eggs and about 3/4 of the cheese and mix well
- Spray muffin trays with cooking spray then spoon mixture into trays. Top with remaining cheese.
- Place in oven for 15 minutes or until the tops turn golden brown.
- Let them sit in the trays for a few minutes before removing from rack to cool. Use a knife to work around the edges of the rice patties to remove easier.
In our first practical we made chicken and rice patties.
We made sure to use mise en place (Preparing everything and get set up) before we started anything.
Making the patties was pretty easy and was fun for our first time cooking. I think my group worked well together because we all got along and helped each other.

Tarzan
Two Words, One Family.
I think the song means that just because someone isn’t blood-related to you
doesn’t mean you can’t be their family.
doesn’t mean you can’t be their family.
A message from the movie Tarzan is to accept people who don’t have the same background as you.
This is because accept everyone no matter what and shouldn’t discriminate people
because of who they are. We saw this in the scene when Kerchak finally accepts Tarzan
into his family. This makes me think that even if you are not related to someone by
blood you can still treat each other like family.

A message from the movie Tarzan is to learn from your mistakes. This is because everyone
makes mistakes and it’s apart of life. We saw this in the scene where Tarzan brings Jane and
her family to meet the gorillas and Clayton tried to hurt them. This makes me think that it’s
alright to make mistakes and to mess up sometimes but you should try to learn from them.

Human Rights
Human Rights
In social studies, we are learning about human rights. We had to make a poster with all human rights. We also had to rank what we thought were the top 10 most important human rights.
What are you learning so far?
We are learning about human rights and the importance of them.
What is the most interesting thing you have learned?
The most interesting thing I have learnt is how long it look for the whole world to accept all the different human rights and not want their own.
Explain what your work is and how it links to the topic?
My work is about all the different human rights we have and what I think are the top 10 most important rights. This links to the topic because it shows that I have been learning about human rights.

Shading
In art this year we have been doing shading. First, we watched a video on how to shade correctly and then we practised. Here are some of my drawings.
- Have you improved your shading? Yes, I think I have because before watching the video I didn't know anything about shading now I think I've learnt a little bit.
- Do you understand that using a structure can help you work better? Yes because it helps us get the idea of what we are going to draw and where we are going to draw it.
- What are you going to work on going forward in pencil drawing in and out of class? In class, I am going to try focus and work my hardest and out of class, I will try to draw as much as possible and practice at home.
