I think diversity means knowing and respecting all the different cultures and places where people come from.

What did you already know? What did you learn this year?
I already knew most things about diversity, like accepting people for who they are.

My Food Bag Semester 1

My Food Bag - Fried Rice
Who was your profile target? My profile target was a teenage vegetarian.
What was your recipe decision based on? I decided to pick a fairly simple recipe and one that I thought everyone would enjoy.

Ingredients
2 cups of raw rice
2 eggs
½ capsicum
2T sunflower oil
1 ½ mixed veggies

  1. Cook rice for 20 mins - Could cook rice day before then cool for best result. Cut capsicum into small cubes.
  2. In a pan or wok add 1T of oil. Add egg. Cook egg until fried.
  3. Take the egg out of the pan. Add the rest of the oil then place mixed veggies and capsicum. Let them cook for 3 minutes.
  4. Once veggies cooked add eggs and rice. Cook until rice is all fully fried

Explain why this recipe was chosen to do? I think my group decided to do this recipe because it was a simple but delicious dish.
How it fits into the nutritional model of the dinner plate? It fits because it has lots of healthy vegetables and good protein.
What changes did you make during the 2 practice practical lessons? We added curry powder.
Why did you make these changes? Because I think it tasted better with it.
What were the positives of your final product? We put out a dish that everyone enjoyed and had positive feedback about.
Describe the two things you have learnt this semester? I learnt how to properly set up my workspace before cooking and, what different foods aren't good for you that I thought were.

English Character Strengths

English Character Strengths

This character trait was shown in The Hunger Games when Katniss volunteered as tribute to save her sisters life and risk her own. This shows if you love someone enough you will risk your life for them.
This character trait was shown in A Silent Voice when they boy was being mean to the girl but then he thought about how she feels and what it was like to be in her shoes. I think you should really think about someone else’s feelings before saying something insultful.

This character trait is shown in Children of Blood and Bone when she didn’t give up. Even though she could risk her life she wanted everyone to have their powers back. I think this shows us that even when it gets tough to always push yourself to keep going.
This character trait was shown in Spiderman Homecoming when Peter Parker saved all the people from dying in the Washington Monument. This shows us that kindness can come in many ways and can even save peoples lives.

This trait was shown in the Hunger Games when Katniss was inside the arena fighting for her life even though it was hard she continued to try her best and didn’t give up until she go to the end. This shows us that you shouldn’t give up no matter what happens.

This trait is shown in Forrest Gump when he tried making friends with everyone even when no one wanted to be his friend back he still kept trying and he finally found Jenny. This shows us that even though being social can sometimes be scary or intimidating you shouldn’t give up.
