Dear Mrs Elley
We should only wear black leather shoes because of all the dangers around the school, for example the rebuild, in science you could drop something heavy on your foot or if hot liquid won’t burn through as quick. At tech you could also drop something heavy on your feet.
We should also wear black leather shoes because it wouldn’t look nice or presentable wearing bright pink or bright yellow sneakers with our black and blue uniform. People could also get bullied because they don’t have highly branded shoes, and feel insecure on what people will say about their shoes.
The last reason is because of the cost. Some parents might not have enough money for the shoes that their kids want. At the start of the school year black leather shoes are cheaper and it’s easier for parents to buy them.
We should only wear black leather shoes for around school and work but wear sneakers for playing sports.

DeleteKia Ora Chloe, you have made some strong and clear arguments for keeping our black leather shoes at school. I wonder if sports shoes have a place in our school outside of lessons? Next time remember to finish off your letter with 'Yours sincerely' and your name.
