 Research Models

Max Huber, Borsalino, Traditional

The focal point in his artwork would be the red circles, especially the bigger one inside the beige circle. The darker shade of the red circle against the beige circle make it stand out more. The leading lines in this image would be the line under the word "Borsalino" and the line down the image that all the circles make. The colors used in this image are the primary colors red, yellow and blue. The typography used in this image is used for the word borsalino and is calligraphy and is in italic. Borsalino means 'a mans wide brimmed felt hat' which is pictured in the bottom right of the image.

Johnson Witehera, Half blood, Aotearoa

The focal point in this image would be the text in the middle. It is centered and is behind a bright blue background which makes it stand out. The leading lines in this image would be the lines of the sand and the mountains. The colors used for this image are lots of greens, blue, red, white and different shades of black and gray. Elements like gradient are used in the sky. The typography used in this is 'Maoriland Adventure'. With the words ' Witehira 2016' and 'Press Timata' under it. All of these words are used in an 8-Bit font to make it look like a video game. The words 'Maoriland Addventure' are red with black at the bottom and the red of the words on the artwork are white.

Dushan Milic, Hansel and Gretel, Contemporary

The focal point in this artwork would either be the red text or the colors on the children's faces. They all contrast against the white background which makes them pop and stand out. The leading lines in this artwork would be the lines made by the small text under the text that says Hansel. The colors used in this image are red, yellow, blue, pink, white and gray.  Red is used in the text of the words Hansel and Gretel. It is also used for the paint splatter above the word Gretel which I am assuming it to represent blood. The typography used in this image is in a messy paintbrush typo of font. The artwork is about the 2007 movie Hansel and Gretel directed by Yim Pil-Sung.

  1. Kia ora Chloe, do you notice how in the Milic poster, there is deliberate misalignment of the colour? and the transparency? those little details are ones to notice and use as devices. Otherwise, well done
